Set Sail on Australian Expedition

On Set 24, 2008 we flew to Oakland and took a shuttle to San Francisco. We met Brett Marty, Karl& Ivy. We showed them the Dawn Princess and played with the kids in the park. We played with the kids for awhile in the park and then boarded our boat. As we left the dock we had a view of Alcatraz and the Oakland bridge. Then the ship turned around and our view was San Francisco City in all it's glory. what a perfect day. sunny and warm. As we left the harbor we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge is so high that the people waving to us very very tiny.
The weather has been very nice with smooth sailing. We have had the pleasure of eating with different people at each meal. Our ship has travelers from all over the world. This makes for interesting conversation. We met a couple of pensioners Owen and Molly from outside Newcastle Australia. A lot of fun. At dinner last night we met the teacher for Arts and Crafts. Evelyn has been on 109 cruises. She brings her supplies for each class- about three times a week. For a 30 day trip that's a lot. She is 82 years old and thinks this is a great way to spend her retirement.
Tonight we ate with a young couple from East Germany- Luis and Dominique. Luis was learning English and we had a very funny - comical conversation. He wants me to continue to teach him English. We have also met folks from Liverpool.etc .

Our room is just gorgeous. Each time we enter, I think why did we leave. The view is the best on the ship. We look out the stern of the ship. Always beautiful!
We have exercised and have gone swimming. The people are so friendly.
Our Captain, Todd McBain is from Canada. He says we are on an adventure to find Australia
